Problem
Manager - The RFI / Variances Database - A simple to use, cost
effective solution to managing project problems.
The Forms!.... five forms that handle problem definition,
resolution documentation, cost assessment, execution documentation
and engineering/design deviations.
Problem Manager- RFI / Variance database contains the forms
and reports used to document and resolve problems that occur
on project. The five forms in the database are used to help
managers, engineers, and contractors get timely answers to
questions,
resolve scope issues, and identify costs to keep the project
on track and minimize contractual issues.
Quickly get answers to critical questions with electronic
submittals
Reduce claims potential by addressing and resolving problems
Increase efficiency with a common database for all problem
resolution/tracking functions
Reduce costs by resolving questions quickly
Create documents for efficient change and contract control
Communications! ... attach all reference documents and send
the reports via email !
Getting the information to the right parties is very important.
Problem Manager is designed to provide easy communication
between the manager, engineers/designers, and all contractors.
With one mouse click, Problem Manager creates a "snap
shot" of a report and opens up an e-mail window. The
user selects the destination and the e-mail is sent! Communicate
electronically to all parties - either local or remote!
Load Problem Manager onto your local network and all users
can quickly communicate with each other! All users can view
reports and update information. All users view the current
status of all problems.

Five Key Forms for Total Control!
RFI - -Request technical information - resolve engineering
/ design issues.
Variance - Documents all changes in scope, schedule, cost,
quality, or procedure.
BCN - Backcharge all faulty equipment and services.
FCR - Field work authorization for new work.
NCR - documents approval of change in engineering/design.
Problems assault your schedule and budget on a daily basis.
The way you deal with them is a key component in your success.
Now you can answer question like:
How many questions to company "x" are outstanding?
What's the total cost of variances to date?
How many field work orders have been issued?
What's the recovery on that backcharge?
What's the estimate for that change?
The Problem Database is a tool designed to help you do just
that!
Five Key Forms to Link the Variances
One form or several? Problem Manager uses five industry typical
forms. Each form serves a specific purposes and contains the
information necessary to resolve the problem. Sensitive information
is retained on the parent RFI and VN forms.
An RFI can stand alone if it resolves a question and does
not generate extra work for the project. When extra work is
required as a result of the RFI, the project has a variance
and a VN form is generated.
Completing the BCN, FCR, or NCR forms requires only form
specific information. All associated forms are linked through
the VN form and data is entered only once.
